Vehicle Prep
The answer depends on the type of terrain and the challenges you plan to tackle. A stock suspension paired with a good set of all-terrain tires for casual sightseeing should be more than sufficient. However, if you aim to tackle more rugged terrains, consider upgrading your suspension and equipping your vehicle with bigger tires.
For easier trails (rated 1-5), a stock 4x4 can handle the job. But you'll want to be prepared when it comes to more challenging trails (rated 6-9) - minimum 37-inch tires, rock sliders, high-clearance bumpers, and recovery points. Additionally, having a rear locker (or front and rear lockers) will significantly improve your vehicle’s off-road capabilities. Upgrading your suspension also boosts clearance, helping you navigate challenging obstacles more effectively.
