Recovery Training Option
We have partnered with the Southern Nevada Off-Road Recovery (SNORR) team to bring a basic off-road safety and recovery class to the Red Rock Ram Rally this year. This all-day course will be offered on Friday, June 6th.
SNORR is a non-profit volunteer recovery team based in Las Vegas, NV. It was formed because there needed to be a way to help stranded outdoor users when tow companies could not. Apart from recovering stranded vehicles, one of its missions is to educate people. SNORR trains over 200 people each year and is involved with over 500 recoveries.
This year, for Ram Rally Moab, the director of SNORR, Ean Quiel, and Tim Fast will join us to present the off-road recovery basics. They have years of experience and hundreds of dynamic recovery situations to teach from. We hope this provides great value for the Ram Rally participants, and as a thank you, a portion of your event registrations will be donated to SNORR.

Vehicle Prep
The answer depends on the type of terrain and the challenges you plan to tackle. A stock suspension paired with a good set of all-terrain tires for casual sightseeing should be more than sufficient. However, if you aim to tackle more rugged terrains, consider upgrading your suspension and equipping your vehicle with bigger tires.
For easier trails (rated 1-5), a stock 4x4 can handle the job. But you'll want to be prepared when it comes to more challenging trails (rated 6-9) - minimum 37-inch tires, rock sliders, high-clearance bumpers, and recovery points. Additionally, having a rear locker (or front and rear lockers) will significantly improve your vehicle’s off-road capabilities. Upgrading your suspension also boosts clearance, helping you navigate challenging obstacles more effectively.
